Zeerust demands the following
We demand the following:
- The enforcement of by-laws: Please uphold the existing legislation around the control of stray animals.
- Removal of stray animals: The animals must be removed from the community to prevent further damage and inconvenience.
- Safe shelters for animals: Work with animal owners to ensure safe and hygienic facilities for these animals.
Why it is important:
Stray animals in our community pose a danger, for several reasons:
- Threat to health and safety: The animals create a risk for motorists and pedestrians and can spread diseases.
- Damage to property: Many properties have been damaged as a result of animals roaming freely.
- Reduced quality of life: The general living conditions in the community are deteriorating.
