Smallholdings now even safer thanks to Benoni branch’s new motorcycles
AfriForum’s Benoni branch continuously keeps a close eye on the situation surrounding safety on smallholdings, farms and rural areas on the outskirts of town, and thanks to the branch’s rural security project, patrols can now easily be facilitated in these areas. The branch recently added two motorcycles to its arsenal of security aids to easily patrol these isolated areas.
The branch’s neighbourhood watch found that motorcycles offer certain strategic advantages that vehicles do not necessarily have when doing patrols. Some of the biggest advantages are that the neighbourhood watch can quickly respond to emergency calls and easily comb a scene.
“We believe that the fight against crime requires continuous cooperation from the community, as well as the implementation of new and innovative ideas. We are convinced that the new additions to the branch’s existing security aids will be a great asset and will make a noticeable difference in the fight against crime in and around Benoni,” says Jurie Ferreira, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the East Rand.
Cooperation is the key to success and together AfriForum’s Benoni branch and the community can make a positive impact on the safety situation in the town. Get involved with the branch today. Visit www.wordlid.co.za for more information.
