Who and what is AfriForum?

AfriForum is an Afrikaans civil rights organisation that protects the rights of minority groups at national as well as provincial level, and anyone who can identify with AfriForum’s principles and objectives may join the organisation. Residents in the vicinity of the Apiesrivier have been living with the inconvenience of power outages for weeks now.

AfriForum’s Apiesrivier branch would like to assist the community and put pressure on the Tshwane Metro to speed up the process of restoring the power supply. We need your help!

No maintenance and upgrading of the power distribution network, and a lack of qualified electricians and security for power supply infrastructure cause additional power supply deficits, and the Tshwane Municipality takes no responsibility.

The branch needs your support to apply pressure on Tshwane Municipality to make adequate resources (people) available to be able to maintain the power network. Further we request that the qualified electricians working at Rooiwal power station be made available to assist Region 2’s power department.

AfriForum’s Apiesrivier branch will hand over a petition to the metro to make sure the authorities are aware of the impact of this damage. The metro needs to address the problem urgently, speed up repairs and provide solutions to assist the residents of this community with food and water.
