Lesufi has to go

Panyaza Lesufi, currently Premier of Gauteng, has a disgraceful record of anti-Afrikaans/Afrikaner sentiment and rhetoric, misappropriation, allegations of corruption, extremist ideological points of view and supporting disastrous policies that threaten education, law and order, water and more. Lesufi also has a history of spreading divisive and harmful racism fake news and lies. He has proven himself as an ideologist who only cares about power and attacking those he clearly hates –specifically Afrikaans schools. As one of the main drivers of the Bela Act, Lesufi declares war on Afrikaans. 

Lesufi certainly competes strongly as one of the weakest leadership figures of our time. He has repeatedly proven that he has his own political interests and prejudices at heart rather than the true interest of Gauteng’s residents. His policies and actions not only poses a threat to Afrikaans and Afrikaans schools, but he has already caused great damage to the wider education system in Gauteng. Lesufi’s failures have serious consequences for the communities he is supposed to serve, and his leadership failed to ensure fairness and transparency in the interest of all residents of the province. 

Instead of providing the necessary reforms and support to create a functional education system in Gauteng, Lesufi’s action caused division and undermined the future of thousands of learners in the province. AfriForum therefore demands his resignation.
