Kempton Park branch fills potholes in Aston Manor

The AfriForum branch in Kempton Park prioritized the repair of potholes with the help of community members this past weekend. This follows after many complaints were received from the community about the bad condition of the roads. The branch filled 60 potholes, of which quite a few were very large, in the Aston Manor neighbourhood. A total of 105 bags of tar, weighing more than 2,6 tons, were used during the project.

“Many roads in Kempton Park are in a dangerous condition because the necessary maintenance and repairs aren’t done. This project is a way in which AfriForum’s Kempton Park branch shows they do not hesitate to support the community. It is remarkable to see how the branch members braved the early morning cold and the hot afternoon sun to fill potholes. It is truly something to be proud of,” says Jurie Ferreira, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the East Rand.

“Residents of Kempton Park must all take responsibility for their community to get Kempton Park back to a state that everyone can be proud of. It is important to get involved and give back to the community. If we just sit back, the decline will continue. Many thanks to every AfriForum member’s support as well as the winning team in Kempton Park who took on these projects,” concludes Ferreira.
