Cyril Ramaphosa should do serious introspection
The civil rights organisation AfriForum expressed the hope that Cyril Ramaphosa, who has just been elected as President of the ANC, would do some serious introspection and that the party would stop looking for scapegoats for the crises that the governing party had created themselves.
Ernst Roets, Deputy CEO of AfriForum, says that there are certain basic steps to be taken by the governing party that would contribute to the prosperity of everyone in the country. These include the prosecution of corrupt officials, as well as the protection of property rights and the equal treatment of all citizen, regardless of their race.
“Ramaphosa’s success will be measured against the extent to which these steps are executed,” says Roets.
