AfriForum’s East London branch donates more than 400 m2 of grass to beautify school

The grass is now truly greener at Laerskool Grens in East London after AfriForum’s local branch donated 430 m2 of grass to this school – one of the last remaining Afrikaans schools in the city. Laerskool Grens recently approached the East London branch for help, after which this branch did not let any grass grow under their feet and immediately stepped in to make the beautification project a reality.

According to Dave Nettle, chairperson of AfriForum’s East London branch, this donation of high-quality grass aims to improve the school’s outdoor space and provide a comfortable space where learners can relax, practice sports and comfortably learn in the outdoors.

“It’s important to create engaging and safe environments for learners. A well-maintained outdoor area also contributes to the overall well-being and development of healthy young people,” explains Nettle.

The community is encouraged to get involved in this AfriForum branch in order to make a real difference.
