AfriForum Youth lays charge against EFFSC demonstration at UFS

AfriForum Youth today laid a charge against the students of the EFFSC (EFF Students Command) at the University of the Free State (UFS). This follows after EFF students at the UFS began demonstrating today. Many classes and tests were disrupted during the demonstration while students as well as staff were assaulted by the demonstrators.  

“AfriForum Youth directed an urgent letter to Pura Mgolombane, Dean of Student Affairs, in which we ask that he takes immediate action against the demonstrators to ensure that the safety of other students and their right to education are not violated,” says Chantelle du Preez, AfriForum Youth’s National Coordinator for Tertiary Institutions. 

The demonstrators also threatened Marchelle Malan, Chairperson of AfriForum Youth’s Kovsies branch, that they will attack her should she decide to use the videos against them. 

AfriForum Youth’s Kovsies branch will follow the necessary steps and submit charges with the necessary evidence at the UFS.
