AFRIFORUM WORKS HARD TO IMPROVE MACHADODORP
The AfriForum branch and neighbourhood watch in Machadodorp have been working hard lately to combat crime in his town and surrounding areas and to improve he community or he local residents.
On 28 May 2021 the neighbourhood watch assisted in finding a hijacked vehicle and to safeguard the load. The neighbourhood watch and members of JHD Security were informed by a vehicle tracking company that a truck was highjacked. They immediately hurried to the scene where they found the truck abandoned.
The truck’s sails were opened and some of the alcohol that was on he truck was removed. Neighbourhood watch members safeguarded he area around the truck to prevent further theft until the SAPS could take over at the scene.
AfriForum’s Machadodorp branch repaired potholes in West Street on the same day. This project forms part od a continuous projects that was launched. From March until now various streets have already been repaired.
“We are proud of our town and therefore we will continue to build a future for our people here. We will not be put off by the inability of the Emakhazeni Municipality,” says Henrico Duvenhage, chairman of AfriForum’s Machadodorp branch.
The branch encourages the community to become involved with the neighbourhood watch and the branch to become part of a safe future. SMS your name to 45340 (R1) and join AfriForum.
