AfriForum in Vaalharts and SAPS confirm their cooperation
The Vaalharts branch of AfriForum confirmed their cooperation with the South African Police Service (SAPS) on Friday, 17 February 2017, in Hartswater. This after a copy of the cooperation agreement underwent by AfriForum and the SAPS (national) in Centurion on 17 January this year, was handed to Captain Matlhako, who is standing in for the station commander.
“The agreement aims to strengthen communication between AfriForum and the SAPS. AfriForum neighbourhood watch will henceforth also be recognised as role-players in the improvement of safety and to encourage community cooperation in the fight against crime,” says Linja van Wyk, District Coordinator for AfriForum in the Northern Cape.
“It is gratifying to see that the SAPS is willing to join hands with AfriForum neighbourhood watch groups and to assist us in our projects and initiatives,” says Theo Joubert, Chairperson of the AfriForum Vaalharts branch.
