AfriForum publishes manual to help farmers protect property
The civil rights organisation AfriForum has published an assessment document today that farmers can use as a manual to ensure they have the necessary security measures in place to help prevent farm attacks. This document will also give farmers guidance on how to act effectively after an attack.
This document serves as a checklist that can be used to make sure that elements such as contingency plans, communication networks and access and escape routes are part of farmers’ safety planning.
“Farmers have no choice but to ensure they secure themselves well by practicing contingency plans and taking other safety precautions. This document serves as a very handy guideline, which farmers can use to assess their security planning and ensure the necessary measures are in place,” says Jacques Broodryk, AfriForum’s spokesperson for Community Safety.
