AfriForum neighbourhood watches in Bloemfontein take part in national patrol
The AfriForum neighbourhood watches in Bloemfontein – including Uitsig, Pellissier, Fichardt Park, Hospital Park, Wilgehof, Langenhoven Park, Rayton-Heuwelsig and Bloemfontein-North – took part in a national patrol on Friday 20 July 2018.
During this patrol eight AfriForum neighbourhood watches and 209 patrollers took part in 125 vehicles. Altogether more than 4 047 kilometres were covered and all incidents were successfully handled in conjunction with the South African Police Service (SAPS) and security companies.
Other safety institutions took part in the patrol along with AfriForum, including companies such as ITR, VR Security, Bloemsec and Securiforce. The SAPS and other private neighbourhood watches also took part.
“AfriForum launches these national patrols to improve visibility and cooperation, and to ensure the safety of our communities,” says Joseph Renaud, AfriForum’s Regional Coordinator for the Western Free State.
“AfriForum urges communities to become involved and to personally start prioritising their safety. We cannot entrust the state alone to look after our safety. Become involved with any local safety institution in your area or join AfriForum today and become part of the solution,” Renaud concludes.
