AfriForum helps with arrest of murder suspect

AfriForum’s Stilfontein neighbourhood watch on 6 March 2019 informed the organisation’s control room of a suspect that stabbed a Klerksdorp security guard to death.

Jan Anderson of SDF Security was on this day summoned to a panel beater together with the local SAPS to investigate a burglary. Upon his arrival, Anderson chased the suspect. However, the suspect awaited Anderson behind a corner and stabbed him to death.

Thanks to continuous monitoring surrounding the case, the suspect was arrested on 8 March 2019 in Sebokeng by the North West trio task team of the SAPS. The AfriForum 911 control room and the SAPS constantly cooperated to make this success possible.

“It is important that AfriForum and communities cooperate with the SAPS to safeguard our towns. AfriForum also expresses its sympathy and condolences with the Anderson family with their loss,” says David Olivier, AfriForum’s Head of Community Safety for the Central Region.

“Make sure that you download the AfriForum 911 emergency app on your smartphone in order to summon help during an emergency or to report suspicious activities. Feel free to visit AfriForum 911’s website at www.afriforum911.co.za,” concludes Olivier.
