AfriForum lays charge of incitement against PAC
AfriForum today laid a criminal charge of incitement to violence at the Lyttleton Police Station against the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC), under Section 18 of the Riotous Assemblies Act 17 of 1956.
This follows the PAC distributing promotional material for a public exhibition which contained the phrases “One Settler, One Bullet”, as well as, “Each Bullet Takes Us Forward”.
“Such incitement to violence against minorities are unacceptable. We cannot allow double standards in terms of such dangerous rhetoric,” says Ernst van Zyl, Campaign Officer for Strategy and Content at AfriForum.
“AfriForum will take the necessary steps to ensure that justice prevails through proper legal channels. We urge the authorities to treat this case of incitement of violence by the PAC with the necessary seriousness. If such rhetoric is not dealt with decisively and swiftly, it sets a very dangerous precedent,” van Zyl concludes.
