AfriForum’s Meyers Park branch repairs street
AfriForum’s Meyers Park repaired the potholes in Sholto Douglas Street over the past few days at a cost of about R22 000.
The branch used Roadchem, a local contractor, to repair more than 1 300 m2 of potholes. It used 3 750 kg asphalt, 240 litres of binding agent, 300 kg crack sealant and 300 litres of sealant.
“Community members who stopped while the road was being repaired said that the road had been in a poor condition for 10 years and that it had been reported to the Municipality on various occasions,” says André Badenhorst, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Meyers Park branch.
“The community approaches AfriForum on service delivery issues such as this one. AfriForum will launch similar projects in October in the Metropole,” says Lambert de Klerk, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Northern Gauteng.
De Klerk adds that the branch also repaired street lights in Equestria that have been out of order for a while now.
