AfriForum’s Meyerspark neighbourhood watch patrols Wapadrand area

The AfriForum neighbourhood watch in Meyerspark on 1 August 2018 patrolled the area around the Wapadrand electricity substation between 20:00 and 22:30 to increase visibility.

“Even though no incidents were reported, it is important that our neighbourhood watch is visible in the area, seeing as cable theft is a big problem,” says André Badenhorst, Chairperson of the Safety Portfolio of AfriForum’s Meyerspark branch.

“AfriForum would like to thank each of our neighbourhood watch members, as well as encourage other community members to join their nearest neighbourhood watch. Cable theft is a major problem in the Tshwane Metro and normal community members that organise can support the Municipality to prevent it,” says Lambert de Klerk, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Gauteng North.

Community members can become involved at AfriForum: SMS “Meyerspark” to 45341 (R1) or send an email to lambert.deklerk@afriforum.co.za.
