AfriForum branches in Uitsig and Pellissier bring suspect to book
Members of the AfriForum branches in Uitsig and Pellissier yesterday brought a suspect to book that was busy sawing up and stealing palisade fences next to a railway line.
“One of our members informed us that palisade fences next to the railway line in Memoriam Road were being sawn up and stolen. Our patrol members were informed of the incident and upon their arrival at the crime scene a suspect was hiding in the veldt. After the SAPS was summoned, he was arrested. A bag containing gloves, iron saws and a rope, as well as two panels that have already been sawn up were also found on the scene. It was later learned that five suspects were originally involved,” says Gert Jacobs, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Uitsig branch.
“We are grateful for the good cooperation and communication networks between our neighbourhood watches that value the safety of their community highly,” says Pieter Myburg, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Bloemfontein.
