AfriForum’s Rayton/Heuwelsig branch and SAPS to cooperate against crime
The AfriForum branch in the Rayton/Heuwelsig area today presented a copy of the cooperation agreement that was signed on 16 January 2017 between AfriForum and the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Centurion to Lt Col J.W. Phule, Commander of the Bayswater Police Station in Bloemfontein.
“This agreement is aimed at following an integrated approach to improve safety and promote community cooperation in the combating of crime,” says Radie Ferreira, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Rayton/Heuwelsig branch.
“Crime in urban areas, especially residential areas, is increasing daily and if the community does not work together with the police on a strategy towards combating it, the battle will continue for a very long time,” says Pieter Myburg, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Bloemfontein.
